reverse lights

hi guys could you7 please maybe tell me were is about no the gearbox is the conection for the reverse lights because after i had my cluth overhauled my reverse lights stop working so i think the cords are disconnted i have a 1990 525 it has a m20 engine e34

dunno on the m20 but on my m50 the switch is on the right side of the tranny

The switch is on the left side of the gear box for M50.
