Help & Advice Wanted On M30 535 Dyno Results

Had the old dog on the dyno today and results were- 199.6 flywheel HP and 169.1 rear wheel hp. Car is 1988 manual 535 with a Miller MAF and some diy head work. I know the flywheel figure is below the 208 standard but I am not really bothered as the figures are up about 10 hp on a previous dyno run and the engine has done over 150,000 miles so I would expect some power losses. What I am interested in is how do my figures compare to what anyone else has achieved and are they reasonable for a lightly modded but high mileage lump. Opinions and advice welcome please.

I think the HP indicated is at the wheels! Very impressive with the MAF+chip conversion.

OK had another go and hopefully managed to get a working link. Guys hopefully as you can see my dyno guy supplied me with two prints one of flywheel power and the other of rear wheel power. Now whats confusing me is my print of flywheel power of 198 hp and 226 ibft pretty much matches with other graphs that I have seen and those that have kindly been posted here in reply to my question. But the owners of these state ( and I am not doubting them) that these readouts are rear wheel? Yet my rear wheel print gives 168 hp and 649lbft hence I am confused. As I say I am not doubting anybody elses figures just trying to make sense and get a definate comparison with my own. Can somebody make sense of it ?

yes, most dynojets measure at the rear wheel but display flywheel estimate on the graphs as a matter of course... you actually have to change some settings to get a real rear wheel display.

Thanks for that info some of these charts are making sense now. I only know that I have a rear wheel and flywheel figure because the print outs given to me were two seperate graphs and say what each one is on the top. So presumably if you have a test done on a dynojet and watch the car on the rollers you are naturally going to assume that the figure is a rear wheel reading. But if in actual fact the standard chart defaults to a calculation and gives a flywheel figure. Looking at the dynojet charts posted by other members no where on the chart does it state where the posted hp figure relates to. Lastly guys I am not doubting anybody elses hp figures just trying to work out what I am actually looking at to form a worthwhile comparison

I now know that I am roughly about 30 hp down and will look again at my engine. I now also have an idea where my possible problem lies. I only wanted to be sure before I tear the thing to pieces again and then probably pay for another dyno session. So thanks for reply and I am not in any way doubting anybodys dyno figures. It was more a case of convincing myself that my own are low.
