I don't want to cut a hole on the side but rather where the side moulding is like how the E38 is set up. Has anyone done this? Any pics on how it looks?

Not sure about the e38, but if you want it in where the center trim sits, you have to cut yourself a nice hole. I used a dremmel, took a few minutes each side. Slather on the por-15 when you're done and start wiring :D

did you cut the molding to get it to sit in there? what did you do about the front of it, the lights have a steeper angle than the molding.

Yes, cut the moulding to match the angle at the back of the light. If there is a difference in the front angle, I've never noticed. Not that I've ever been accused of caring for the finer details ;)

what's the best source for the wiring? any need to remove the fender?

No close up pics, but wiring is self explanatory. Just match the wire gauge, remove the (13mm?) fender bolts from the engine bay and door jam to allow you to 'peel' back the fender and lengthen the wiring too the existing bumper trim light (assuming you're removing that one).
