I'm fishing around for an 850i project car. I'm not looking for a perfect car, but would prefer one with mechanical issues. Not interested in someone's beloved baby. I would love to find a 6-speed, but wouldn't we all. Preferred colors are black, silver, gray, red. I can travel, and don't mind driving one back from afar. I live near Chicago, IL
Yes, I know about the school kid's project car in CA. If it was closer and I could see it firsthand, I'd probably have grabbed it.
I already have a 750iL and am not afraid of 12 cylinders! Feel free to email me at vstrazzabosco@yahoo.com
Thanks,
vince

I realize your post is somewhat dated, however I just saw this on Craigslist in St. Louis. Not far from Chicago.

I haven't checked on this thread in a while. I may have found one that I like, but haven't heard back from the guy in a few weeks. The one in StL is too much and my least favorite color.
Thanks for the replies!

Yes, I agree, with a 1990 750il too. What I had hoped to find a was a car fairly close to IL that needs work, rather than someone's pride and joy that they've put big bucks into are are hoping to recoup. Here and there I see cars on ebay, but I have sadly run out of room in the driveway.....
