I keep getting the message on the display. I looked at the reservoir and I cannot see any wires going to it for a sensor. I do have leaking hoses but I keep an eye on the level and the reservoir is full.

Any ideas where the sensor is?

There's a sensor underneith the steering box. You can access it from under the car easily.

How would that determine fluid level?

wow! never knew even the power steering has a sensor

It might be a pressure sensor. But to check the level you can use the dipstick in the fluid reserviour. But that's the only sensor in the whole power steering system...in my car anyway.

Fluid is full so I don't see how I would have pressure issues. I also don't notice any other issues with having a heavy steering wheel.

I say, that is weird. Do you have LAD (self leveling suspension)? Maybe that LAD system has a sensor. /shrug.

Nope, no SLS.

You would be surprised how many sensors are in a modern car... :)

LAD/Power steering reservoir has a sensor at the bottom of the reservoir. 2 wires go out there, at the side of the reservoir there is a bracket and the plug connection. Had also a warning, turned out that the thin wire was broken there, resoldered it and all is fine.

Thanks I'll have to check. My coolant level sensor had a dirty connector. Some sand paper and electrical grease fixed that.
