OT: Looking for a 02 Sensor for my mom's 2005 Echo for under $140

Hi guys, I've been searching parts stores, ebay, even checked Autohauz(Won't ship to Canada) and the rest are 180+.

I'm looking for the 02 Sensor for a 2005 Toyota Echo 4 door, it's the post/after catalytic convertor sensor I need.

Any idea's guys.

It would be 6,438 kms ago, the 02 Sensor is only warrantied till 60,000, my sister's celica had the same problem, right around 65,000 km her CEL came on and her post cat 02 Sensor was the cause.

When you use the OBD2 scanner... does the O2 read anything? If it is dead, it reads zero.

Rockauto.com has them for $48.

Alot of time, it is the MAF that is bad, not the O2 sensor. You need the scanner to make sure. Bad MAF triggers O2 sensor error.

Is it the post-cat 02, it's not the same as the front one, the second one is a lot longer.

MAF would trigger the first 02 sensor error, not the second.

I used a regular obdII scan tool, I'm going to try to get the Snap-on MT2500 onto it and go for a drive and see what we get.

Yes, downstream O2 sensor. You don't need special OBD2 scanner... as long you can read both of them... the first one is fast reading... crazy number all the time. The second one is slow moving... you have to hold the accellerator for like 4 seconds or so before it change reading.

What error codes are you getting? MAF error will trigger O2 sensor error and like lean or rich fuel trim bank something.

I'm getting P0136: Oxygen Sensor Circuit Malfunction/high Voltage (Bank 1, Sensor 2)

Already got the info off mitchell on demand.

I was just really worried about it being the cat because the light has been coming on and off, on and off whenever it feels like, no real pattern, I need the scanner to read them, my friend has one so I'll do it this weekend if I don't just get the parts for rockauto

where are you in Canada? if close to the border you could just have it shipped to the closest place in the U.S. FEDEX Kinkos etc...

Nice guys, 3 for 1 deals on alternators. ;)

Also Mechanik on Rachel/DeBullion, they just opened a paint-only shop in Laval somewhere. The parts store specializes mostly in US cars tho.

I checked out BMA and it's 160$ shipped, the 1 that Tiger found at rockauto at 49 and it's a universal, not putting that and the other 1 is also 160 Shipped and it's 2 days back order.

At these prices and waiting times, I'm better off to get it from here, jobber ntk: 196 + tax and dealer is 247(-15% garage price, +15% tax).

I'm probably going to go with dealer on this since they won't give my mom hassles if her cataylitic convertor is the problem since that's under waranty.

Isn't emission related components warrentied longer? My mom's mercedes got both cats replaced almost 2 years after the warranty was up.

Federal law cover the emission system 8 years or 80,000 miles. All emission components are covered. However, he is in Canada... different rule.

Some advice likely to be proferred by bimmer.info members:
- see the light (and sort ur **** out)
- get a life
- get a life, or get #@$%! (and stop posting here)
- get rid of your bimmer (give it to someone more deserving/appreciative of it)
1. Open the bonnet/hood
2. Look for the little light (down the bottom a long, long way away...
3. Understand what it is telling you, commit this to memory.
4. Close the bonnet/hood
5. Can you now see the light?
6. Do you still have a question (to which there is only one correct answer, no)

All are likely to be valid and unusually correct.
