The car is an 88 European 535 manual. I have fitted a Miller MAF and am happy with the results. The guys at Miller had no chip available for my original ECU which is a 150 which I believe is 1.1 (car has no CAT fitted). I therefore changed to a 179 ECU which I believe is 1.3 the car runs fine with this. I have been advised by Miller that fitting an O2 sensor may help things even more as the 179 is intended to run with this. Therefore I am asking for a wiring diagram to wire up a O2 sensor to the 179 ECU, and also suggestions for a suitable sensor to use. Lastly I would value any opinions as to if there are any advatages to running a 1.3 ECU instead of the original 1.1.

Bosch MOTRONIC 1.1 and 1.3 explained

You can test the oxy sensor on the top of the DME. Remove the plug from the DME, take off the cover from the connector (in my case 3 screws, pull the connector out of the plug housing and push the connector into the DME again.

Then you can run the engine and there is no need to crawl under the car to test the oxy sensors.
In case of the DME 150 it is pin 28 on the DME. Both DME's look similar from outside. The -179 is however the more modern unit, see link above.
It can be used instead of the -150.
So use a DMM on pin 28, ground/mass you can take from pin 2, 14, 19 or 24, and plus on pin 37.
Double check the pins I have posted here with your Bentley manual, mistakes can happen!

Many thanks for the above that should help me. Lastly would you have a suggestion / or part No for a suitable O2 sensor to use?

I bought original Bosch oxy sensors from www.autohausaz.com in USA, cheaper than I can get them here in Japan.
Alternative is to buy a universal one.

YEs, a shogun said, universal O2 sensors are cheaper. I snipped the wiring from my old O2 and had the guy that maitains our two-way radios wire it back up to the universal.
