I have installed the EAT chip and have noticed that my idle RPM is a little higher than before. Can anyone tell me if this is normal and if not how to set the idle RPM back down to the normal 650-700 RPM. I realize that with a '92 535i 5-speed you cannot just play with the throttle cable so where is the idle adjustment?

i'd suggest (as i don't have the m30) that you start by cleaning the icv out WELL. On my car, mark's chip made the idle speed drop a little, not sure why it would make it rise on yours, unless a vacuum hose somewhere is kinked or has a leak in it.

how many miles/km have you had it in for...it takes a little while for the computer to get back to normal after it has been disrupted...i'd say that if you have fewer than 200-300 miles on it, don't worry about it until then.

Your work is finished. Both the stock chip and EAT set the idle at 750. If your idle was lower before, that was due to some fault in your system, which the additional spark advance in the EAT chip may be correcting, in some obtuse manner.
