NOT needed on a street driven car with a stock engine. These are to lessen the drag on the crank spinning in oil(windage) in racing engines.

Perhaps it's not "needed", however, it would still be beneficial and you would feel more power in higher rpm's, and might even increase your oil pressure slightly. Even if your engines stock, a crank scraper still does what it's supposed to....Plus it will get rid of the oil pressure drop you get when you corner hard if you also get the oil pan insert from the same company.

Provisions to stop potential oil leak? I did not see any.

Agreed it's benefits are the same if used in an unmodified engine. Power gains from an item like this are very small and not likely to felt in the seat of the pants.
If I was facing an oil pan removal for some other reason and one laying around, okay. As a power improver there are way better bangs for the buck.

^ yup, that about sums it up. I heard one guy say he put a scraper in his m30 and he said it felt like a lighter flywheel had been installed, but as you said, that was a track car with mods and only noticeable >5000 rpm .
