540 seats to a 525

Done the search within the forum but I wasn't able to find an answer. Would the seats from the 540 fit on the 525, bolts and connectors? My driver side seat is really bad and I'm looking to buy seats which came from a 540. Thanks!

No trouble. two bolts each plus the wires and don't forget the cable for the shoulder belt height adjusters.

the bolts will, the connections depend on your factory options i believe, but i know people retrofit just about everything. I myself used seats from a 94 525i in my 89 525i. My stock seats didn't have a heater, the new ones did. The plugs were a perfect match, and the seat heaters worked right off the bat...So maybe its always plug and play. Somebody chime in who knows more about e34s after '90/540i seats.

ah yes the shoulder belt height connectors.... So no difference between the plugs ross? Thats good to know incase i want to go with a black interior instead of dark blue....Do you know if it's the same with e32 seats?

E32 seats work just as well. Memory seats present some challenges that are covered in the forum. I haven't personally swapped seats among different years but would suggest the connectors are likely the same and if anything a few pin positions might change. If the wire colors match I say plug 'em in.
