I just yanked one from a 750 and I need some help with the wiring. Anyone know about this? Also the rear glass was shattered so theres alot of shards of glass in the parts causing it to not operate correctly. I remember there being a write up on this but I can't find it.

Ok I give up what does it do?
Also use photobucket for you photos. Too many popups and ads with bilder-speicher. I use K9 security on my computer, keeps my boys from surfing into the wrong places :). bilder causes my computer to lock up because it has naughty ads :) IE "Sandy 26 wants to talk to me"

Sandy is probably a 300 pound gorilla.

abt. $ 220 plus shipping, the weight is about 6 kg, so then it will probably be close to 300 $ with shipping. Too much for a DIYer, that is a professional tool, he sells them to indy shops.
On the other hand, a similar professional tools costs 431.00 $

Well unless I go into the business of replacing bushings it looks like it will be the repro-saw for me.

Yep, the smaller gear is stripped. Put me down for a replacement gear.
edit: I think my motor looks a bit different than in the pictures. I have a smaller gear that drives the bigger one that drives the arms that lift and drop the sun blind.

The smaller gear part of the 2 normally does not get any damage. The one I have in steel is the bigger one, see here the original ones. The larger one is made out of -I assume- pressed plastic or something like that.
If you want one, send me a PM with shipping address details , as I do not have unlimited supply.

You could also try a cheaper method to repair it, Jon Evans shows this. The larger gear is only used over a certain potion of the complete outer diameter, so if you cut it and install it in such a way, that the still good section is now in contact with the smaller gear, it might work too, here the instruction

Did all US E34s come with the connection for the sun blind motor/switch harness? Ive seen a few cars at the junkyard that didnt have it but mine does... (made my rear sun blind retrofit a snap, just need to fix the motor)

So here's a video of the shade in action. I still need to work on the hole I cut in the shelf to make it look more stock but there's no rush.

Very nice, and I see that you got the rear headrests in as well. Don't know why but it makes a huge difference for me, it's like it's incomplete without them!
Did you ever figure out how to get those E38 lights in and the shifter console?

I got the whole E38 shifter console and handle in and works great. looks great too. I also have a set of M-Parallels from an E38 but I just got new tires on my 15"s so I'll wait to get new tires for the 18"s

Hi Sniper, sorry that I did not answer immy, but I was in Europe for 10 days.
I used ball bearing grease for the gear.
But I can see you already installed the new toothed gear I sent you and all is working fine.
Congrats.
