If you had to hide a handgun in your car?

I was daydreaming about finding a handgun in the wild and having to hide it in my car to go through customs. (Mexico-USA, Russia-Latvia are 2 possibilities)

where would you hide it?

Is there room around the fuel pump? but that would be incovenient

maybe I would hide it below the steering wheel . yea that's the best position.

Umm under the center console, next to the shifter, under the back seat, under the trunk carpet but further up behind the rear seats, behind the carpet sides in the front passenger footwell, the e34 is FULL of hiding places....don't ask

There's a couple of very handy spots.

Under the back seat

In the seat backs of the front seats (handguns)

Way back in the trunk under the mat, there's a spot that dips and could hold a carbine or AK.

oh, and if you ever do have to do the us->mexico thing, well, if they caught you with a gun in mexico, you'd be, to put it into less profane terms, f'd in the a. you couldn't buy your way out of that one.

I saw on one of the "Technology" shows on TV that many border crossings are using what appears to be x-ray (or similar) technology to see items hidden in cars. Seats, metal panels did not hide anything. So hiding places are not much help if this technogy works and is widespread. Still a dumb question.
