I did this on my car for the first time a few weeks ago. I did the rear, pulled the wheels off and checked the rear pads, they were fine after 15,000kms- hardly any use.
I've got the brass bushes on the rear caliper pins and they have to be cleaned as the grease is open to the elements.
so the rear brakes first. i think the brake pedal went down 10-12 times for each caliper with a person holding the brake pedal to the floor the final time as I tightened the brake nipple.
then i do the fronts. the calipers a from a e32 750 from germany,

I just opened up both brake bleed nipples and let it squirt out, I let fluid come out for 5 or 6 times before closed them both off. I've heard though to just worry about the top nipple and no the bottom nipple?
What is the proper procedure?
I was watching the level of the brake fluid resourivour the whole time. One grommet broke into two and the other was not much better. http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=GC81&mospid=47354&btnr=34_0499&hg=34&fg=25 - no 2 replaced
I washed and cleaned the brake fluid resourivour and re-installed.
The brakes feel really good. It's easy for abs to kick in. I want to upgrade to the 750 master cylinder. I have about an inch of travel then the brakes kick in, then another of inch of travel and the brakes are kicking in really hard. Is this normal?
