I own two 535's....My '92 535 has 7 series control arms installed on it by someone else. While my '90 535 needs new control arm bushings it has a serious front end vibration at 45-50 mph. Is it a common upgrade to switch to 7 series control arms? Has anyone dealt with or heard of this? Thanks

the e32 upgrade is popular but the e34 m5 bushes are even better/sturdier

Is the physical control arm of the M5 different from the e34 535's? Because if not that seems the best and cheapest route

The control arms are not physically different. The bushing for the M5, however, is sturdier (and solid rubber). I have 750i bushings installed on my 535i and they are supposedly more durable than the e34 bushings. I haven't had any issues, but you're probably best off getting M5 bushings from the get go. Some places like BMA Parts will press in the bushings for you into brand new arms.
