Blow motor inop/ Climate control system inop

89 E34, fuse 27 or 28(Can not remember) shorts out, fuse blows. Blower motor inop. Is the cause the motor or the resistor pack?

Prev. history...The blower motor gradually became less and less active, as in, became slower and slower until the point of no operation.

Motor is probably shot and shorting out the system.

Yup. I suspect the same. It's a common wear item.
