First post here and I haven't seen this particular topic on this site, if it is I apologize.
I have removed the instrument console from an 1989 535i because of intermittent failures of the fuel gauge and the economy gauge and the temperature gauge to see if there are any breaks in the printed circuit board or any shorts in the wiring. I read somewhere that there are batteries that have to be replaced in the console. Has anyone else heard this because I don't seem to find them.
