The CAT is out of the bimmer for good...

OK...so it was decided that the CAT will go away and it happened today.
The tubes were cut after the O2 sensor (a new one was fitted) and before the temp sensor. two tubes ran to cover the gap left by the 14 years old CAT which really looked old and cracked.
The personality of the bimmer will never be the same with the new voice and i could feel that the M30 is reving happily with the additional exhale space.

How has the noise level changed?

Have you considered using exhaust wrapping tape on the new pipes?

well ..... it sounds a little bit louder on low revs and it makes that sweet tone when the revs increase. it is not much louder but has a a much more agressive personality. After 3500 RPM it gets much louder ..... i can only say it is beautiful.
What is the wrapping tape ?
