Hmmm, without some kind of rubber on both sides to absorb the impacts, won´t it transfer everything directly from the road surface to your steeringwheel and hands?

+1 I would not think it would be very comfortable without the rubber donut.

would NOT recommend the non rubber coupling, the rest of the parts look okay tho.
