I dont know if this question is posted often, we used to do it all the time on my e12 site. Always makes for a great thread. I'm curious where other people are sitting on their cars.
I'm at 160,000 miles with the original motor and transmission.

Only bought the car in January this year but declared milage is 176,000 klms.
Original motor by number and it doesn't look like its ever had major work and nothing mentioned in the service books.
My transmission is sticking in 1st & 2nd only when cold for the first 5 minutes, so it might be the first "major" work coming up.
(Tried additive to soften the valve seals but it didn't work).

Still runs great. Just a little show to enage drive or rev when cold...We can live with that..
My 1991 535 5 speed It's at 105K just a baby...
Ok not a 5 series.. 3 year olds girls car I brought her... Dad has to drive to keep the miles off the 535 and to make sure to doesn't feel neglected.
1988 325IX 5 speed...M20 Odometer just recently broke. Will fix soon 265K.. Runs strong...

I'm at 203,000 on the '95 530 and 130,000 on the '95 525iT. The 530i is all original. Not so sure about the wagon - I bought it a couple of years ago for my daughter to drive and the motor acts like it has a lot more milage on it.

166,000 miles but I don't think the engine is original. Build date is 3/93 so it should have a nikasil but it doesn't now. I talked to the dealer who maintained it from age 2 till I bought it and they have no record of changing the engine so it must have happened early. Original tranny which is getting its biennial fluid change this week.

Just hit 200,000 miles on original motor, never rebuilt, original head gasket. New to me manual transmission (with over 220,000 miles on it) replaced the original automatic (which was still working fine) at around 180k miles. Mostly just regular maintenance and replacing some seals, and upgraded injectors.

191k miles. I think. Could be more.
Just about every moving part has been rebuilt, swapped out or replaced.
Run hard, put away wet.

220,000 miles for me. afaik, completely original, although the trans seems to be getting weaker.
Unfortunately, the A/C is broken beyond repair and I just installed some wide tires, so I can't drive it in the summer or the winter.
Probably won't see 300k...

203K miles and still pulls great and runs well. I just replaced the injectors with the Bosch type 2 and I have to say that after the first week things are idling smoother and pulling harder on the low end. The mileage is at worst the same around 18mph but is reading 19.4mpg's right now. I would tell anyone thinking about this, do it well worth the work. My car is chipped, I don't know it that makes a difference although I would think it would. I love this car :D

239000 miles so far on the 535i 5-speed manual. All original, no problems other than some interior issues and the heater valve. Some maintenance items I guess. I need to sell this but I'm worried the mileage would scare people away...

My '93 would have lots more original miles if the dumb sh*t owner (me) didn't let it get low on oil (leaker) and scored a cylinder at 178,000 mi/287,000 km. Aaaaaaagh!!!
I pledge to get it going again, I have the engine and tranny out, have cleaned up the head and lapped the valves (they were far from perfect) secured a short block and will freshen that and the tranny up before it goes back in.
I can't bear to have killed it so I am compelled to revive it. It was running beautifully, those darn leaks were hard to track. So many of 'em.

Just rolled over 170k miles this week. Walked out to the car after work yesterday and the top radiator hose had burst after I arrived at work. 90k miles on that hose. Just had the fuel pump fail a couple of months ago. Aside from that, still rolling along.

Just turned 271,000 last week. Only put 1,000 on it since last June when I got the e39, I put 16k on that...
I still love driving the e34 5 speed though, it runs as well as ever, ...might have to sell it, insurance in this state is raping me.

I'm at 220,000, original motor transmission, can't tell if the tranny fluid has ever been changed. Bought a new filter, is it recommended to change it if it has that many miles? I've heard to leave it alone if it's been too long.
