How many of you have the cover for bottom of the engine? The one that covers the ac compressor and power steering pump.

I managed to strip one off a 735il before being sent to the scrap yard.

It matters! First of all water will be able to splash from the floor onto the components and the belts, and it is also important for engine and transmission cooling. The engine room is encapsuled to some extend. The visco fan pushes the air inside and the bottom part keeps it closed to the bottom, so that the air is cooling th radiator, the engine then it passes along the transmission.
If the cover is not there, the air goes the easiest way out.

I've got one on both of my cars and a spare. I did try to fit the spare to a 94 525, but it uses a different one, if at all.
