View Full Version : Fuel pump relay - WHERE???
Can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay resides? The car refuse to start. jumped the fuel pump with 12v and operated ok. Checked fuse ok. Spark OK. Cam position sensor OK. Crank sensor OK.
I have a 1995 (mfg 1/95) 530it and the ECU box ( right side) has a different layout then other e34's. I see 4 relays that sit below a row of connectors and a 50 amp fuse. Can't determin which one is fuel pump.
Thanks

as long as you do not have in your profile the exact month and year of production, no one can tell in detail.

and here are all ETM with info by production year, check it out, usually starts around page 15

On my car, the fuel pump relay is blue. O2 heater relay is green. And the main DME relay is white. I'm not sure what the 4th relay is, but I bet it's a different color still.
Can anyone tell me where the fuel pump relay resides? The car refuse to start. jumped the fuel pump with 12v and operated ok. Checked fuse ok. Spatk OK. Cam position sensor OK. Crank sensor OK.

Look up the electrical troubleshooting manual for your model year online. I've said many times every electrical component, down to the splice of every wire on your car is documented in the electrical troubleshooting manual with pictures.
Any other ideas on where the fuel pump relay is located?
Found it. Followed the color codes on that VERY helpfull wiring diagram.

Thanks to each of you. The relay was bad. It"s located deep in the e-box.
Never saw this setup before. The fuel pump relay also powers the cooling fan in the e-box as well. that should be a diagnostic clue as well
