Factory Speakers

Has anyone noticed the factory speakers form an '89 are smaller (not in diameter) than later model year E34s? Do they sound better? I noticed the dash speakers of a 95" have a bigger magnet coil and better construction.

Not sure but I always thought my factory speakers sounded very good from my '95 E34. Even compare to MB Quarts I have in the Mase. And much better than the Harman Kardon from M3.
