clutch

yesterday when i came to the stop street i held my clutch in and when i was taking of the clutch was riding but after a while it seemed to release and the car went fine again i've never had this problem before.
what could have caused that, do i need a new clutch?

You will have to help me out here. If by 'riding' you mean slipping then this is not a good thing. I'd start looking for new clutch bits
