Hi all
My 530i had 2 stuffed IR remotes, so I screwed the stealer down for a replacement, which he sent out to my this week by mail.
Checked the owners manual which says
1) key in ign & turn to 1st position for less than 5 seconds, then back to off
2) Press and hold button 1 (2 button remote) and press and release button 2 three times within 10 seconds, then release button 1.
Red Led should flash for 10 seconds.
While led is flashing, hold within 15cm of remote recieiver located in the bottom of the internal rear view mirror. Central locking should operate. If it doesn't, try the process again.
I am in danger of wearing out the new remote before I get it paired succesfully.
Checked BMWe34.net, opened the remote up but no chip or removable item so I'm guessing there is no socket in the alarm unit under the rear seat either.
Does anyone have a bright idea before I go cap in hand back to the Dealer?
