I dont know how I missed this when I put the intake back together, must have been in such a rush. I know I really crank those suckers on there, and I did it in a pattern, but as you can see i still have alot of gap inbetween the PVC and intake and even the throttle gasket stick out a little. Sprayed the crap out of it with MAF clear, but didnt get a RPM response. What do you think?

arent these figure of 8 shaped gaskets, but 90 degrees on its side? I'll try and find a photo - I think the gasket recesses inwards...

Yeah if you look at the gaskets in the background in the plastic baggies here:

The gasket recesses under a bolt across the top of the pcv plate!

I think you're missing a cover there, are you the guy having MAF 1222 codes?

part 7, I'll do a quick diagram where to put your finger to see if the engine suddenly runs smooth, I've seen this happen before - people swap the pcv plate but forget to move over the little rubber cap!

Where this arrow points:

There's a little tube sticking out of the back of the pcv plate, on the other side it goes to the fuel pressure regulator. On this side there should be a little rubber cover blanking this off. From this photo it looks like there isnt one there.
Put your finger firmly over the end of it with your right hand and gently rev the engine a few times with your left, it should immediately settle down and your code 1222 should magically vanish.

Oh well I guess I should have explained that I was in the process of changing that very hose (its not capped for my car) today and noticed the gaskets sticking out, so that why there looks like there is nothing there.

Gasketwise you should be good if it s in the groove properly.

I know its in the groove, so I am going to assume that despite that gap, I am alright.

yep you shouldn't get anymore warning code 1222 or whatever now. it does look strange that the gasket spewed out. Make sure you reboot the computer before getting on with life.
