I can't believe it the left side upper strut mount is broken. Found this out today when jacking up the 5 I notice that the upper strut cap was loose and when I removed it I saw there was a gap between the upper washer and the rubber top of the mount. I took the cap and washer off the other side to compare and notice that on the good side the washer sits right on top of the rubber top. These are OEM BMW parts they cost $140 apiece. I am getting tired of paying premium prices for crap. Don't know if I got these from getBMWparts.com or autohausaz or pelican parts but it was one of these three. I know I bought them in the summer of 07. Unfortunately I don't have a receipt to prove it.
Frustrating to say the least
