Parts put in last night
735i parts

Dog bones 33321126476
Vent tube from valve cover 11151719841
Exhaust hanger rubber ring 18211177708
Fuel filter 13321270038

Would have had the rear swaybar links in but the holes were to small :(

Been wrenching with my oldest son which is very rewarding. He drove the beast to school this morning. Ah college glad that part of my life is over.

Now on to the front end. PO left the lower coil spring pads out and of course the springs creak. Going to remove the struts and check all the components. Purchased a clam spring compressor last year and used it once on the 5. Have to say this is a nice design and it works well with the Bimmer springs.

1. Pics of the compy??
2. (The rear sway bar links are always tough to go on... are you sure? I go round and round until the rubber bed in and grabs). Pls post pics and brand so we all know what to avoid ;) EDIT: OK scrub #2 (already done (http://www.bimmernut.com/forum/showthread.php?p=333299&posted=1#post333299))!

Here is the strut compressor. I have used different spring compressor but this is the first one that I felt comfortable around. Don't worry I am comfortable but I have also learned never to turn my back on a snake :)

Certainly a different spring compressor, i can see how it works though.

FYI i run no spring pads on the front of my car, lowers it another 5-6mm which is pretty unnoticeable.

I am looking at H&R springs. Without pads don't you get squeaking?

how does it compress?

Creaking without pads is one thing, what to get it lower? they do make 3mm pads which help, problem with none is it eats into the spring seat which eventually can wear through.

Yeah that is what I got from my sons 7. The 3mm pad is the way to go
