The only strange thing is how we cling to the notion that we have rights any more - just wait til the health care insurance police get going.

I don't know what people are complaining about - the government owns all the housing anyway....
Proof - stop paying your property taxes for 3 years, you will quickly find out who owns your home.
That being said, I believe we at one time in our history had the right to bear arms.

Jeff, i love that there’s aware peeps out there like you.
There was a heavily armed police presence in Chicago today. Guess there were concerns about bombings on public transportation after Moscow. Pictures are floating around the interweb from NYC too. Cops hangin out in full armor with M4 carbines. And honestly, i was very upset by this.
The militarization of the police is getting worrisome. The backstory to what happened at the GOP convention in MN comes to mind.
Progressives and libertarians can quibble economics all day and night, but those worried about state power have every right to be. More so that corporatism rules DC.

Somebody wakes me up in the middle of the night and I'm looking for a big stick, not a camera.

I don't honestly know how I would react in seeing that much police presence. This move to remove the governors is getting lots of play on MSM, albeit all twisted it's still there. Going to be lots of legal action. Military and the supreme court are behind it too.

If somebody is breaking into your house in the UK, the police tend to be on your side. You might not like the fact they gave you a ticket and a fine for speeding a few hours ago. But they still come. I just came back from Spain. A motorcyle cop would allow me to take a pic of his bike but not of him on it. Perhaps its time to say WTF to political correctness ?

If somebody is breaking into your house And you don't know exactly who they are BEFORE they come busting in.
Fortunately many states here in the US have a ‘Castle Doctrine’.

Somewhat weak considering how much governments Federal, State and Municipal have been pissing on the 4th, 6th and 10th Amendments. But it stands as for now.

CCW is the law in what ... 48 states? McDonald VS Chicago will most likely go the 'right' way.

Yeah an Englishman's home is his castle. And I should know. But the Police dont routinely come busting into my house. And I wouldnt have a camera ready if they did. I dont need to. I agree your courts have said you can carry arms because in one of your amendments a few 100 years ago it said so. Big deal. So I want to make a trip to the US and look at your cars cos I like them. Does that mean I should be shot?

here is the 1 of 3 again, I am thinking this is all in only MY mind but I do feel we need to understand that the US federal corporation is being called for what it is. Illegal.
