Searched for ride height lowering recommendations, lowering springs, etc. I did not find any good threads.
I want zero gap between tire and wheel arch in the front and 1-1.5" in the rear.
I will replace the front struts. The rears are stock and new which will be reused.
Please to those who have dropped the car, toss out pics and specs. Thanks!!
The cars back in the body shop. :(

Yours looks nice. Show us more pics, want to see what wheels you have. Very nice color. Subscribed, might want to drop the front too eventually.

Optimum handling is with Eibach/H&R pro kits. Going lower and e34 dynamics go wrong. To reduce the problems requires more than expensive camber kits...

I'm running the Ebiach pros with bilstiens on my 95 540. I cant get a full finger between the tire and the wheel arch and its about 2 fingers in the rear. I have read that the v8 is only a little big heavier than the big sixes so I would expect similar results for you.

H&R and Eibach are pretty good, dont know what the clearance would be with the big 6 though. I run Eibach and had to make a 5.8 shim for the rears, sagged over a couple years, front is good, looks slammed.

Does your shim sit between the shock C-ring (assuming Billies with adjustable perches) or is it a 5.8mm (more likley a 5/8"?) shim between the spring and the perch?
Which way did you go Mr B, and how is it holding up?

I had a local machinist turn up a couple chunks of aluminum, it was 5/8 thick and yes between the perch and spring. Holding up? as long as it doesn't disintegrate it should last quite a while.

I like the new ride height and feel of the car. 280+k miles on original springs compared to recently popped Eibachs are saweeet!!
