Mixing gas

With the price of gas now, would it be OK to mix 93 octane with 89 octane (50-50)? I have an EAT chip which requires 91 octane gas. In North Carolina the gas stations only sell 87, 89 and 93 octane.

How it is going to get properly mixed? It would appear that if you did a 50/50 mix that there would be some settling in the tank.

Gas prices have dropped here in Black Mountain (about 3.5 hours west of Chapel Hill) over the past week, the Exxon I pass every morning that was 2.19 for 93 is now asking 2.11 (they're usually 2 to 3 cents higher/gallon then the surrounding stations).

I do not believe that the 535 has a knock sensor so if you get pinging, the DME cannot retard the timing to compensate. And....like the man said....how much you going to save....a buck or so a tank.
