Had the bowden cable on the driver door go toes up on me - no problemo, I thought, how tough can it be?
Part cost less than $5 US with the BMWCCA discount at the dealer. . .
The end that hooks into the latch is a PITA to get connected - in spite of what I read in an archive post, it cannot just be wiggled around unless you just get lucky. Tried that for about an hour with no joy.
So, I got a long, thin hemostat and clamped the end of that hook so I could manipulate the sucker. With the use of a mirror I could see what was going on and once I got used to working backward, managed to get it hooked in. 10 minutes.
Sure wish I'd had access to an orthoscope or some such surgical tool.
If you have a better way to do this, I probably don't want to know right now, but the other members of the forum will likely be grateful.
