Usually the Bentley is tremendous. However, for the E60 it says don't jack or jackstand anywhere but on the 4 jack spots under the rocker panels. What the??? That makes it tough if the goal is to put the car on 4 jackstands.
On the E34 the chassis is exposed and you can jack on the jackspots and find a spot to stick a jackstand near the front suspension, same in the rear. On the E60 there are covers under the chassis. Do you yank those to try and find a spot or am I missing something?
The more I work on the E60 the more I like the E34. To get to the master cylinder reservoir on the E60 you have to pull the driver's side cabin microfilter cover and the microfilter housing. Mostly quick turn fasteners, but a bit goofy. At least the MFs are easy to change.
Thanks in advance.

can you jack on the diff or the front crossmember?

Crossmember and diff are strictly a no no according to the Bentley for the E60. I ended up putting the crossmember from my hydraulic press on my jackstand and jacked the car up using the forward jacking port. I jacked the car up far enough to put a single jackstand under the rearward jack port and got the floor jack out from under the front by using 2 jackstands, one at each end of the press Xmember. So 3 stands per side.
Gotta be a better way.

E39 types seem to do what I did with the E34 but it says "no" for the E60 in the Bentley.

Why not use high steel ramps under the tires instead of jackstands? Whenever I need to get my M-Sport in the air I just jack one side up high enough to get a pair of ramps under the tires on that side. Then jack up the other side and put ramps under the tires on that side. I'm just using 2 pairs of steel ramps I got from NAPA for $20 or $25 per pair.

Right quick and much more stable than jackstands.

I was doing a brake job on all four corners, wanted all the wheels off so I could go corner to corner. Finished off with a fluid flush which is a bit easier with them all off so i can go RR, LR, RF, LF.
