Wow. even better. I hope my black one will look that good once she gets the next polish.
Did all the 540i M-Sports come w staggered rims and M5 rear bushes?
Are the brakes standard 540 rears or are they M5 parts too? I just imagine the rear geometry must/might be the same as M5 due to the 9.5" rears- I think that means the brakes, the wheel bearing carrier, brakes, output shafts, trailing arms- all would be M5 items... ? is this right?

Essentially, it is a '95 M5. The 3.8 liter M5 engine couldn't pass US emissions, so BMW crammed the biggest V8 they had in it. It has an open diff because of the traction control option. The wheels aren't staggered on this car. ***yet***

And they're not quite '95 M5's. They are M5's with a V8 in 'em though. The US M-Sport had the single pot M5 brakes, not the floating brakes found on the '95 M5. Nor did they have the M-Pars the '95 M5 had (though they did have square setup forged T-Stars). The Canadian M540i was a '95 M5 w/V8 as it had the floaters & M-Pars.
But yeah, the whole rear subframe is M5 parts (except the diff being open and of a different ratio, though I think one of the M-Sport's had the LSD installed).
IMO the M-Sport is the best of all worlds as far as the E34 is concerned. M5 everything, but with the higher torque V8 & no S38 upkeep costs...

Enjoy! Cosmos looks quite different in pics than in person doesn't it?
Love the pic, makes me want to get shadowline on my M-Sport as it goes so much better with black than the chrome does.

Cosmos looks best in indirect light, then all the colors will reflect their light as the later hours of the afternoon. When in direct sun, the blues really come through. Yes, it is it's own animal...and I agree with you bubba about the M-Sport being a great best of all worlds type of car. With the Dinan exhaust, the V8 sound rumbles through...
