Mechanical tensioner question

Hi all,

The picture is below. However, this is a little different from what I took out from the car. It fits, but the pulley is different and the bolt on the pulley is also different. I have not put it on yet, but i wanted to ask you guys if it is okay to use this. Thanks.

Many thanks. I thought the image was posted, I am not sure why it did not upload. I will try it again. It seems the main difference is the pulley, which is different from the old one although the size is the same. In the old one, I used to use the pulley bolt to take the belt out or put it on. The new one has a separate nut shaped thing that you use to release the belt. I put it on which seems to be fine now. Thanks again.

Probably a new design so you don't break bolts.... just a guess without seeing what it is compared to.

I wonder if it can be done to a '90 M50, not just the '95.

I also purchased that kit, but I did not not use it. It is still in the the box. The pulley in the picture does not fit onto the new tensioner I got (https://www.autohausaz.com/search/imageexpand.aspx?imageurl=../secure/PartImages/11281735899.jpg), but I thought I can use the pulley for the A/C tensioneer, which fits.
I am not sure how I can convert the mechanical tensioner into hydraulic one (I am not that good with car repairs as you probably noticed from my questions).

That looks like the upper stationary pulley I'd say. On the older tensioner design, this must be different or missing.

Worry not about doing the conversion, it won't need it... So the new tensioner keeps its pulley. The fasteners are for fitting the newer tensioner, as it doesn't come with them and the old ones don't exist ona car that didn't come that way...
