Hello,
All the sudden the other day when I put on my blinker it was both came on. I was like I had put on the emergency flasher. It seems to come and go, one part of the drive no matter what I do both sides will come on (inside and out), then it seems to be fine. Is my stalk going bad? My hazards work fine, and the fuses are fine. Any ideas?
Thanks
Dan

I can shut them off, its only when I turn on my blinkers that it acts like the harzards are on and sometimes the side I am trying to indicate turn on then both will come on then maybe a few seconds later just the one side with out touching the stalk. And maybe later I will have a perfect hour drive where the lights work fine. I am going to look into the crash alarm relay, and the harzard relay. I stupidly left my manual at my parents so I wont have a wiring diagram for a few weeks. Does anyone have a wiring diagram for the blinkers? On my E12 the blinker regulation is controlled by the harzard switch, is that the same for the E34? I am just so confused at this thing..............

did you read in the link? Copied here:
Great post Shogun! I had this problem until I read this post. I had pulled my flasher relay a week ago because they would go off for no reason. So I checked the date and part number and it turns out I had the wrong part number 732 installed instead of the correct 761. I had 4 more modules as back ups and the newest one is 93 8th week with correct 761 part number.

Self-activating flashers. An owner of a 1993 BMW may complain that the emergency flashers come on by themselves and can't be shut off with the flasher switch. BMW says this may be caused by a bum transistor in the crash control module, which you need to remove. It's a tall brown case stamped with the words "Crash-Alarm-Geber." Check the manufacturing date stamped on the side in white. The first digit of the code indicates the year ("3" means 1993). The second and third digits indicate the week of manufacture (for example, "08" means eighth week). If the unit was built before the eighth week of 1993, replace it. Use Part No. 61 35 1 384 761 for 318i, 318iS, 325i and 325iS models. Use Part No. 61 35 1 384 732 for the 525i, 530i, 540i, 740i, 740iL, 750iL, 840Ci, 850Ci and 850CSi.

I had only a few minutes to look at it today. I pulled the relay, and it was made in 10th week of 94. From what I read on the fourms and the wiring diagrams when you pull it your harzards shouldnt work and your blinkers should be fine. My harzards didnt work and the blinkers did work but it still does the both come on thing. I THINK( but correct me if I am wrong) this eleminates the crash alarm as the problem, but I am going to take it apart just to have a look at it anyway.
