I have a 1990 E34 525i (M20) automatic that has developed a case of the gremlins. I had some ignition problems and had to replace the coil last week but it is still acting up. It fires up and idles fine (well it idles like it always has since I got it. It likes to idle at about 1400 rpm someone told me it was the temperature sensor) but if you try to accelerate to hard (about 20% throttle) or rev the engine above a cretin point it will bog down, sputter, or sometimes cut out at random. It is like it wants to shut off but if I am very gentle with the throttle it runs fine. There are some things I am going to check but some suggestions would be nice.
