Non LAD car with self leveling message.

I just started drving my wifes 89 535i to work on a daily basis. After 10 minutes I get a self leveling message. According to the Bentley book, section 330-11, Fig 17. The power steering resevoir on her car is for the non LAD system. How do I get the message to turn off? Also I checked ride hieght, and it sits at 21 inches parked, but when you put it in reverse, you can feel the car drop. I gotten under the car, don't see any lines going to the struts and don't see any canisters. I do notice some wires and a switch on the trailing arm.

Thanks for the info. The CCM is the module in front of the LKM correct?

You can always put the LAD back in. Just have to replace some o-rings and the hoses... maybe a couple of bombs. She'd be like new again ;)

yes, the CCM is in the fuse box and check control is written on it.
