Hi folks, my heater only blows cold air out of the middle vents. I can get hot air up at the windscreen, and down by the feet, but not in the middle (above the radio and out the sides, in the front doors). I have only had the car a couple of months, and it has been like that since I got it. The car does not have air con. Has anyone experienced this problem?? I am hoping it is not a defective heater box.
Any advice much appriciated...

Have you move the dial toward the red in between that center vent?

there is no dial in the center vent that controls the temp.
here is a shot of my dash...

Ah. I see from the recently added pics you dont have the red/blue mark and thumbwheel in the middle. In which case I guess you will only get fresh air through that vent and your system is operating as normal.

Aah, I see. So it has the same system as Mercedes had at the time, except in a Mercedes, you can get warm air out of the side vents. It's rather annoying on a cold morning, when your hands are cold!
But at least now I know my car is not faulty!:)

The center and sides blow cold in mine because the axillary pump is disconnected.

mine did not have an auxillary pump, I fitted one from a mercedes, as my car took too long to de-frost (I have changed the thermostat and it gets down to 15 below 0 here in Denamrk), but I can't see how that would affect this problem. It should affect the overall temp of the air, not just from the middle vents...or am I misunderstanding something

post a link or picture of the heater core, water hose diagram and we can check it out better. Didn't know were talking a Euro car.
