I need to remove my Alpine head unit. The red light is on so does that mean I have to disconnect the battery so the alarm won't go off?? Or if I leave the key in the ignition, will that cancel it?

not sure about this red light but to remove it is very simple.
1) get a fine flat head and flip the side clips on the lateral side of the deck
2) get a pent "screw driver" (but I have read other members able to use small hex to unscrew it
3) it should then slide out
4) gently unplug the wired and you are done
simple

The red light blinks on and off and is the anti-theft light, but I'm not sure if it turns on the alarm. However I believe if the key is in the ignition the alarm shouldn't go off??

Just verified that the red LED light is NOT connected to the alarm system.

blinking light should go out when key is in ignition and in position 2 or 3. it will start blinking if car is turned off and you mess with the radio contriols.
