Reading the outline by Bruno makes it look easy.

BMW E34 Website (http://www.bmwe34.net/E34main/Maintenance/Suspension/WheelBearing.htm)

What brand of front wheel bearing did you guys purchase? Fromt BMA parts there is Lemforder $136 or MTC $65 each. I'm thinking of sticking with lemforder but they are twice the price, so if anyone can convince me otherwise I will go with MTC.

If I cannot knock of the old bearing with a hammer, would any of the cheap bearing pullers do the job?

bearing puller, Cars, Bikes, Boats, Home, bearing separator items at low prices on eBay.com.au (http://shop.ebay.com.au/i.html?rt=nc&LH_PrefLoc=1&_nkw=bearing%20puller&_fln=1&_sc=1&_sop=2&_sticky=1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m283)

comes off pretty easy without puller, have done it same way
Replacing the front wheel bearing (http://bmwe32.masscom.net/sean750/front_wheel_bearing/ReplacingFrontWheelBearing.htm)
last month I ordered some from FCP Groton because their shipping cost overseas is pretty cheap FCP Groton items - Get great deals on Car Parts, BMW items on eBay Stores! (http://stores.ebay.com/FCP-Groton)
got the wrong ones, see here wrong hub sent by FCP and the evidence (http://www.bimmerboard.com/forums/posts/862878/)
ImageShack® - Online Photo and Video Hosting (http://img713.imageshack.us/i/wheelhubasymetric97mmle.jpg/)
ring diameter was different from the part number the showed, I needed 97mm asymetric.
Have to say, they accepted my claim and gave me a credit note for my parts as I already ordered the new ones from Germany, and they also wanted to revise their description on the offer.
But make sure what you get, that is quite confusing, symetric, asymetric, and different ring diameter.
Not only FCP had the wrong BMW parts number indicated, the original error comes apparently from a description from China and there are many offers with the same WRONG leading description.
In the end a friend in Germany ordered them for me (the correct ones) from ATP in Germany, which unfortunately do not ship overseas, so he bought and sent to me.
The German offer is much more clear, they show the part number and the dimensions in needed for the 750!
asymetric
diameter of ring 97 mm
height 63.9 mm
outer diameter 109 mm
inner diameter 37 mm

Kris, for example here they offer for E34 various, just to show you to be careful to order from other shops which do not specify the details like ATP in Germany

see under technische Information in each offer the differences

Thanks Erich.

I normally get all/most of my parts from bma from the usa.

Realoem specifies which part number for symetrical / asymetrical and the according years to order.

I've never had a problem with bma, they ship quickly and always answer my emails quickly also. Not only that they are knowledgable on the parts they sell also.

I have read that link you have posted also.

Ive never done the hub axels before, but they dont look that hard.

I want to get a puller though...just in case and I dont have one yet.

Get a puller, whether you need it for this job or not, it wont go to waste. Unfortunately I shop price, BMA slammed me on shipping a couple years ago when I thought I was a good customer, leaves a sour taste. I have many suppliers now but don't know shipping costs. Might be looking into, I can post them, only a few though.

The attentiveness of BMA was great but a scam on shipping was not good. More than actual by twice so I tend to go elsewhere. I didn'y even mind paying more for their parts but the shipping ended that.
