Connector question

Anybody have any idea how to unlock the electrical connector that the fog lights and temp sensor goes through? It's round with the harness entering it at roughly a 90 degree angle at both ends and two open slots opposed to each other. I tried turning it, prying it, wiggling it, cussing at it ( in English and German ), nothing.
