As it says. I have a very nice set from a 1994 540 with the chrome trim rings painted satin black to trade for the same from an e30, chrome trim rings OK.

headlights? Fogs? I would be interested in either but do not have E30 for trade.

Headlights. I'm keeping the fogs for my 1990.
If no one steps up with e30 parts on the e30 board I'll be selling them in a couple weeks.

I have been in the market for decent headlights for quite a while now. If they aren't totally sandblasted and you want to sell let me know.

I just learned something, I always thought the ellipsoids were the same E34 to E30. By the way, if you are not particular to have Hella lens, you can get brand new glass lens on ebay for around $13.00 each. Clear, unblemished glass easily installed. Just pry the chrome retaining ring off (need a small, flat L-shaped device such as a bent flat tip screwdriver), then flat tip screw driver to pell off the lens from the ellipsoid light itself - the lens is held on by adhesive and will pop off easily. With the lens off you
can also clean the reflectors. Just did mine this weekend.

What was the source for the replacement lenses?

Not sure of source, I saw them on Ebay. They are fluted glass like Hellas, but I have not used them so cannot vouch for quality/fit.
For the price though, I would try them out. Visually similar, though they do not have a one inch linear fluted line at center of light (look at your Hellas to see what I mean).
Here is a link for replacements lens, also.
