Have a 1991 525i with a inoperative climate control computer. Can anyone tell me where it is located and how to get to it to replace it? Thanks!

It is behind the heater box. You have to remove the 2 pieces of carpet on the back part of the center consul sides, they are held on by a screw. There are plugs on both sides which you have to undo. Then pull it out the passenger side. I have a good one for 20 plus shipping from Ohio,

Thank you, that's a better deal than anything on ebay, I'll take it. The Bentley says the 91 takes the IHKRII and I have no idea what the difference is between the II and the III so I was planning on pulling it and comparing pics. I'm in SC my zip is 29449, do you have a pay pal account?

Better post/exchange pics, also of the connectors, for example the IHKA unit connectors changes somewhere in 1990 or so, here the differences

IHKRI and IHKRII are not even remotely close. Different plugs, different number of plugs, and... different location of plugs.

I have both versions have early with 4 plugs and later with 2 plugs
