I did a search and have come up with nothing.
Anyway my tool kit locking/ retention screw #5 in photo has sheared off inside the retaining nut in the top of the trunk.
it appears I just buy the screw and install by threading thru the exsisting hole...has anyone experienced this and is some special procedure for this repair?

Back in 2007 I got this from BMA. It's the special screw and the threaded plug it goes in.
Screw Plug 71 11 1 179 444 1 - $1.79
Threaded Plug 71 11 1 179 445 1 - $1.70
Part 4 and 5 from your picture. It's in the ETK under: Equipment parts => Car tool/Lifting Jack
Mine does not look like yours, so you should verify Part Numbers.
It's and easy fix!

Use Winfreds expansion tank screw procedure to remove the broken threaded part, heat up a screw driver to melt a notch in the plastic broken screw deal and let it cool. Then unscrew it.

Regal, GREAT IDEA!
I was going to try a reverse thread easy out drill

FYI,
They can break when done up too tight AND when not done up tight enough. If loose, they rattle looser. Then, holding by only a few threads, they break when you hit a big bump, or even worse for the screw, when you slam the trunk!
Not very common, but it happens.
