For those of you running stock 15" wheels I finally had an opportunity to really flog the tires on my favorite Motorcycle Road...HWY 2 in the Angles Crest Highway
I left my house at 6:am this past Saturday morning so traffic was light and I was under the cover of darkness on my 36 miles freeway drive to base of this road so the tires we all warmed up ( averaged 80MPH on the way there )
anyway here is map of the road that is 29 miles to my Breakfast stop Newcomb's Ranch ( roughly half way as the road goes to Wrightwood)

http://www.mapquest.com/#dd55324e2f98446141aa3339 go up to the top of the map and look for squiggly line Highway 2 just north of down town LA

mostly 3rd gear between 60- 90 MPH and few bursts to 100+MPH

the tires performed flawlessly ( but they only have 200 miles on them) but I did notice the front end shimmy at 55 mph under hard breaking...I did lower Lemforder arms w/750i bushings ( along w/ sach kit &m-tech sways etc) when I bought her w/64k back in 2003. SHe now has 120 k so I am guessing it is time for upper arms or is there something else I should check?

they handle every bit as good as my Traction TA's which I got 35K out of them

Shimmy could be a slightly out of round tire. Try swapping front to back?

Hard braking busted the brand new 750 bushings I had twice. Upgraded to the M5 bushings.

you mean the track day at Willow Springs might have taken it's toll?
I will have a look-see before I swap tires

I can still see the 911's drivers face as he chased me round and round.
when we pulled into the pits he wanted me to open the engine compartment...all he saw was my strut bar and a complete stock engine...I did tell him was chipped and I had sway bars...It did slip my mind and I forgot to tell him I have been racing this track on my motorcycles since 1977 when I was in High Scholl on my 1977 Yamaha RD 400
