Hi,
My O2 sensor is broken again. The probe is broken inside (rattling when shaking). It is a BMW part, no. 11781735710 that I got from ECS tuning. I had it installed on Dec. 30, 2014 and 3 months later, the CEL light came on again, showing the O2 sensor codes (1221, 1222). Removing the sensor out of the car it was evident that it was broken inside the probe. I ordered a replacement and will send back to broken one. Beside that there was nothing to diagnose a problem upfront from the probe appearance, it was not carbon fooled, neither coolant fooled. Otherwise the car runs great, not leaking coolant, neither oil. Intake vacuum is steady 24’’ of vacuum.

On the RealOEM parts listing, it is showing that the oxygen sensor part. 11781735710 as ENDED, See SI 110792523; The new part no. is 11781735680.
Can anyone help me find what is the SI 110792523 means please.
I can’t find it searching of my TIS or Googling it.
Thanks!

Just a service notice means nothing in regards to the actual part. The new one could be an upgraded part.

That you would have to ask your BMW dealer, if he could print that SI out for you. I have searched the internet but cannot find anything online with regards to SI 110792523.
EDIT, maybe I got something:

Thanks to all,
I've seen this info from the etk.cc/... also before writing; was wondering if this SI : 110792523 meant something more. I guess the part no. 11781735710 should be fine, that part did work for 8 years before failing.

It's just a bummer that I 1st replaced with the Bosch aftermarket part:
http://www.pelicanparts.com/cgi-bin/ksearch/PEL_search_2014.cgi?command=show_part_page&please_wait=N&SUPERCAT_FLAG=Y&make=BMW&model=328§ion=EXHPIP&page=1&bookmark=0&part_number=11-78-1-468-620-M14
Which is supposed to be the OEM supplier, 99$, but different part no.; This part worked for 6 months then failed. Got reimbursed.
Then I replaced it with the BMW part from ECS tuning (159$):
http://www.ecstuning.com/ES210951/
Which failed again after 3 months. Ordered a new replacement, got the RMA for the failed one.
Dealer here want 313$ for the O2 sensor, the new version 11781735680...
Oh well, hope to get over this for good!

New part number seems hard to come by. Found this with different part numbers: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ORIGINAL-BOSCH-LAMBDASONDE-BMW-5er-E34-TOURING-520-525-NEU-/201039345613?clk_rvr_id=821003040456&rmvSB=true
I have never replaced an O2 sensor. Nika had 280K and new one has 208K. I would feel comfortable replacing them with used parts. Hope the replacements dont rattle after 3 months!

Thanks Shogun,
Any idea if the one I was describing the details is a proper BMW sensor? LSH is their supplier?
0258003108 is a Bosch number?
11781735680.9 seems like I got the new version, not the 11781735710?

ECS site says originally BMW, and the part number 0258003108 is the Bosch part number, so I assume it is made by Bosch for BMW and BMW added their part number.
LSH: I can only assume it means Lambda Sonden Heizung in German = heated O2 sensor.
....680 seems to be a valid number http://bmwfans.info/parts-catalog/11781735680/
