Hey everyone!

This isn't really a question, but I thought I'd share my experience replacing my front and rear suspension on my E34 540i just so it's here if anyone in the future needs help.
I installed the Bilstein and Eibach B12 kit last week and it all went smoothly. The suspension is very nice - it's a small drop in height but the ride is much firmer yet still comfortable.

The video for the front suspension is here:

and for the rear suspension:

I'll keep posting in the future when I solve/have questions for other issues!
Enjoy,

Samuel.

Well done, watched some of the front end video. Not sure what a B12 is, but I installed Eibach pro kit and boge automatics >10 years ago, very happy with it, but time for new shocks/struts and mounts on all four corners. Boy, have prices gone up a bit :(

Thanks and welcome!

Sports suspension makes the 540 500% more awesome.

I have bilstein hd and h&r sport springs, love it. Drop is just right without being too low for kerbs and humps, a bit too much feedback on bad surfaces, it brings out those minor niggles (glovebox and woman haha), but handles like a gokart in comparison with the stock boges.

It handles waaaaaay better now! I also agree with the minor niggles though - I've found myself at least 4 more interior squeaks and rattles after the job was done haha. Small price to pay for the better road feel though.

Thanks mate! I'll try and make as many as I can as I go along.
The next few jobs I'm looking at (soonish) are:
- Repainting my wheels (the last owner painted them with a brush?) and maybe the calipers.
- Fixing an oil leak at the front (timing chain covers I think)
- Doing the almighty manual swap. Need to find a transmission first!
