Just wanted to check back in and say "hello" to all the guys. Been thinking of you lately as I dig into my 1972 BMW 2002 Sahara sedan. It needs a lot and I'm tearing the motor apart now, shooting pics along the way. Wish me luck!
It gave me pause to go back and re read my Engine Tranny R R and R thread. Whew! I got tired just reading it. The E34 had 170k mi when I refreshed the motor and trans in 2012. I was shocked that it has been six years already. That's nuts. She now has 233,846. So 63,000 miles and counting on the refresh. Pretty awesome.

Doesn't know an end wrench from a ratchet/socket. Oy!

This isn't my car but it's quite similar. This one is in better condition, but not by a mile, it's the "after" photo in my mind anyway...

Yes, fix the pic, does not show up for me too.
My first BMW in 1975 was a 1974 Inka Orange 2002 with M10 engine like in this link https://www.bmw2002faq.com/forums/topic/194544-1972-inka-orange-roundie-built-m10-side-drafts-5spd-bbs-rs-391-lsd/
also had the round taillights, later came the square ones

Yes the "roundies" are more desirable. There is an orange 2002 all in pieces 6 houses down from me.
Weird on the photo not displaying, it does for me on my laptop and my phone...

My status says I can edit my posts but I don't see an edit button anywhere. Figure it would be in the bottom bar next to reply, quote and report...
The not so helpful helper and me...

Lol...
Ok yes its next to the reply button on the bottom right, I don't think your restricted in any way but I'll check.
Nothing I can see on the forum end, perhaps a browser glitch or something. I posted the pic in the first post for you though.

My brother has been driving "old red" and he had a friend of his son's polish the paint back in November so it is deserving of the "brillantrot" name.
Not perfect but quite nice for 27 year old paint.
