Last week the battery ran down on my touring and my son jumped the car to get it started (I was away on business). My sunroof now doesn't work. I checked the fuses and actually couldn't find a sunroof fuse. But, all the other fuses seemed fine and everything else works fine. Any suggestions?
TIA,
Curt

Try pushing the sunroof switch in and holding for about 20 seconds to reset the switch. My battery failed on my old 525iT and after replacement, this reset worked. Worth a try, and it is cheap.

As just tried the hold for 20 seconds trick and it worked great. Thanks for the help.

recently had the track, motor everything replaced. worked wonderful, until it started having this aweful cracking sound as it was opening, this went on for several "openings" until one day it would only open about 1/2 inch, and it appeared to be going back unevenly, my mechanic, who specilizes in these cars (he fixed the roof the first time) has no idea what to do, although he did fix the contact switch, still won't open all the way, could it be jamming somehow???

First, I'm no expert on the inner working of the sunroof especially the dual sunroof on our tourings. If it only opens 1/2 inch and is struggeling to get open, it sounds like there is either a binding of the cables or a cable is broken. Perhaps when the motor was replaced the cables got crossed up or something. Your mechanic expert should be able to determine if the cables are correct and free. Good luck.
