I thought Nikasil engine was something from the past. Then, why is Porsche making Nikasil engines on their new cars?

Nikasil is extensively used in racing engine

Porsche has used Nikasil engines since the early 80's with apparently no problems.

My 944S was a Nikasil engined car. And many others as well.
